Free citation management software options exist to help you format your references and create bibliographies. While these are helpful, they are not perfect; be sure to check your citations before submitting assignments.

Citation Styles

APA style is commonly used in the social and behavioral sciences. This guide is based on the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association

The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) is most commonly used by those working in literature, history, and the arts.

MLA style is most commonly used to cite sources within the language arts, cultural studies, and other humanities disciplines.
